Terms of Service

Who you are contracting with

SemaSoma is a translation and language-learning service for African languages, owned and operated by Legacy AI Group ("we", "us"), trading as SemaSoma. When you use SemaSoma or buy SemaSoma Plus, you are entering into an agreement with Legacy AI Group on these terms.

Acceptance

By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or continuing to use the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please stop using SemaSoma. You must be 13 or older to create an account; if you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

What we provide

AI-generated translation between English, French, Portuguese, Arabic and 31 African languages, with phonetic pronunciation, generated audio, guided lesson paths, spaced review and a saved phrasebook. SemaSoma works without an account; syncing across devices, and the features listed as part of SemaSoma Plus, require an account and — for Plus — an active paid plan.

Your account

Keep your sign-in credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Payment, billing and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing frequency, renewals, tax, currency, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals and Plus access continues to the end of the paid period. Our own Refund Policy gives you a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Translation accuracy and AI outputs

Translations, pronunciation guides and audio are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, awkward, or wrong for a particular dialect, region or register. You are responsible for the text you submit, for checking outputs before relying on them, and for having the right to submit any content you enter. SemaSoma is a learning aid — do not use it for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or official translation without a qualified human translator.

Acceptable use

• No unlawful use, fraud, spam, harassment or abuse of any person.
• No generating or distributing illegal content, hate speech, deepfakes, malware, or content that sexualises minors.
• No attempts to jailbreak, prompt-inject or otherwise circumvent our safety filters, rate limits, quotas or authentication.
• No scraping, bulk extraction, resale or redistribution of translations, audio or curriculum, and no using our outputs to build a competing model or dataset.
• No reverse engineering, probing, or interfering with our infrastructure.
• No submitting other people's personal or confidential information.

Content, rights and takedowns

You keep ownership of the text you submit and, as between you and us, of the outputs generated from it, subject to these terms. You grant us a limited licence to host and process your content solely to provide the service. The SemaSoma name, design, curriculum and software remain the intellectual property of Legacy AI Group, and you receive only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your plan.

If you believe content on SemaSoma infringes your rights, email info@futurenomic.org with details and we will investigate and remove infringing material where appropriate. Repeat infringement leads to account termination. We may also remove content, filter or refuse outputs, and restrict accounts where we reasonably believe our rules have been broken.

Service level and availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. Where practical we will warn you first. On termination your right to use the service ends; you may request an export of your learning data within 30 days, after which it may be deleted.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits, data or goodwill, or for loss arising from reliance on an AI-generated translation. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.

Changes, assignment and general

If we make a material change to these terms we will update the date at the top of this page and, where significant, notify account holders. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition or reorganisation. Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control. These terms are governed by the laws applying at the place of business of Legacy AI Group, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction.
